The Role
The Account Coordinator plays a supporting role across account teams at Archetype by helping out with different communications programs, projects and initiatives across teams. While this is Archetype’s entry-level full-time position, Account Coordinators are an integral part of account teams and are expected to deliver professional, excellent quality work to clients on a daily basis.
ACs manage assigned tasks, maintain responsibility and accountability for their workloads, and anticipate team and client needs.
Strong ACs demonstrate excellent attention to detail, deliver polished work, and are tasked with keeping their team(s) organized and informed through various foundational account materials. Under the direction of senior team members, ACs will progressively gain direct exposure to clients.
What you do
- Work with your teams to ensure client’s business goals are being met through various projects, research and tasks
- Always keep your eyes on the news, identifying opportunities and challenges and why our clients should pay attention.
- You keep up with internal and client communications in Slack, knowing where to go for information or status updates.
- You understand what proactivity means at Archetype – constantly suggesting great ideas that keep us meeting client needs in more places; they’re self-starters who take initiative, raise their hand, and jump in where needed.
- First drafts of pitches, emails, etc. are consistently well-written – thorough, accurate, creative, and insightful; You are gaining writing exposure by drafting pitches, awards, and speaking submissions.
- You manage your workload – you get the job done well and on time and communicate often with your teams. If a deadline is in jeopardy, it’s flagged in advance so adjustments can be made.
- Curiosity is the name of the game. You raise questions and issues in channels and offer appropriate actions, tapping others when you need a hand or can’t find the answer.
- You assist with the growth and development of Associates by providing tangible feedback, direction, encouragement and growth opportunities
- You champion the use of AI tools and emerging tech to enhance writing, research, and task efficiency and automation
What you offer
- B.S. in Communications, public relations or related
- At least one year of experience in public relations, marketing or communications, internships excluded
- Eager to be part of and contribute to a strong, high-performing team
- Dedicated to consistently providing quality, client-facing work
- Proactive and hungry to learn, always asking the “why” behind the work to build strategic thinking skills
- Able to quickly learn and understand client information, including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors
- Organized and able to handle multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Slack and generative AI tools
- A solid understanding of the marketing and communications industry and its basic principles
- Residency in commuting distance near our New York or San Francisco office required
